We are hoping for a leader who will bring our troops home and never lead us into another war based on his own agenda.
We are hoping for a leader who will stabilize this country once again, a leader who will provide us with a true sense of security and the continued desire for the pursuit of happiness.
In 2008, we are hoping that leader will be Senator Barack Obama of Illinois.

Today, we first stop and say a prayer for Senator Obama and his family. It is a day of sorrow over the loss of his beloved grandmother and we pray that Barack and his family will be comforted in knowing that now, she will protect and guide him from heaven.
It is also a day of celebration, arriving at our destination after such a long journey. The growth and knowledge we have all gained from this experience throughout the longest campaign in U.S. history is a great part of that celebration, in addition to the new friends we have met along the way. Angels are truly all around Barack Obama on this day. They are all around every one of us, as we cast our vote for the candidate we believe to be the best choice as a leader for our country. After patiently sitting through the hearings on television on Tuesday, Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke evaded the big question, posed to them several times, “what is the big rush for $700 billion?”
Aware that the FBI is investigating potential fraud by mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, insurer American International Group Inc., Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc., in addition to IndyMac Bancorp Inc., Countrywide Financial Corporation and a couple dozen other financial groups, the answer is clear that they need the money before the truth comes out. The investigations of these financial giants, their CEO’s and other senior executives are obviously the reason for the big push for the money. Not only have they stolen the lives and dreams of honest Americans, but they expect to be bailed out by bleeding the taxpayers of the United States. Pirates will be pirates. How does George W. Bush sleep at night? How can the leader of our U.S. government look us in the eye and lie? Ask any good con man. Celeste Friedman AmericansForHope.org

How much hope do we have left?
How much faith do we have in our government, more specifically, who is really in charge for the next four months? Who’s next to go down in flames and will American taxpayers be forced to bail them out as well? Who are the next CEO’s that will exit with millions in severance? Should we prepare for the complete bottom to fall out before Bush is out of office and how do we prepare? Are we all going to be residing in tents in public parks? How do we prepare for the new frontier here in the United States? If they say it’s fear driving Wall Street, who is at the wheel? Where is the leadership that can put the brakes on the manipulators on Wall Street? Who is REALLY at the wheel as the manager and Chief Executive of our country? Is it our Commander-in-Chief, oil moguls and their power network? Why isn’t President Bush firing the chairman of the SEC? Are the so-called dergulators failing or working us over? Who is keeping OUR money safe? Far into the future, what will they write about the fall of the American empire? |
